review. or two.
PANDORUM
low budget sci fi with high impact wow. very inneresting flick. dark, very very dark, and somewhat terrifying in parts. superb acting by the lead, who is unknown to moi. dennis quaid and a couple of other unknowns and that's it for cast. thoroughly enjoyed the tense ride. different in concept than your yewshall sciffy - the difference playing out over the entirety of the story arc. up against other current sciffies, 9/10. against contemporary stuff, 7/10.
VIEWING #2 of the UNKNOWN ARTIST FLICK
better. picked up little bits and pieces missed the first time, and the whole thing had more impact. love it love it love it. in fact, will buy a copy for the library - which hardly ever happens these days, so hard to please am I in my dotage. it's a gorjus slow dance, a long and lyrical poem, a gentle raga that builds to a crescendo of madness, passion, heartbreak, and the frenzy of creative genius at its peak. I could go on .... but I'll save you the pain and stop here :p

ReplyDeleteyairs, hubbabaloo had a certain gleam in his eye when I let him know there was a Dali fillum out there...he did say 'Who's Rob Patterson' tho? So there IS an unknown artist in that film...
ReplyDeleteyou could blood husman with twilight. he'll never forgive you :p
ReplyDeletething about Rpatz dressing up as dali is ... the more I read about just what a mental unit he was (dali that is, not Rpatz. though ...), the more I think Rpatz was actually doing a good job. the inconsistencies in his performance were a masterstroke, if so. dali was as changeable as the weather. american accent one day, french the next. awkward and shy one minute, outrageously exhibitionist the next ... yada yada. musery ...
picked up Pandorum at the local dollar day. You don't mention that Cam Gigandet, aka the shirtless, bird-nest-haired spunk, James, from Twilight is in the cast.
