for the lover of history, blighty, and architexture

snaffled a BBC series at the libr last weekend, and finally cracked it open last night. entitled "how we built britain", and hosted by that posh old journo, david dimbleby. gorjus viewing. well put together series, with awesome photography, atmospheric score, and intelligent consideration of design and construction methods employed for each building. and a reasonably indepth look at goings-on at large at the time of construction of the presented buildings adds to the picture. starts with your rustics and encastellated types around 1100AD, and moves forward from there. some well known edifices (always welcome), some unknown and marvelous to behold. loving every minute of it. 9/10
