torn! we're torn!

ON THE ONE HAND:

Canberra National Folk Festival 2012:

http://www.folkfestival.org.au/

- will have great kids festival
- Shooglenifty are playing, oooh yes they are....
- lots of other fabbo performers, all folky the way we loves it...
- husby wants a week in Canberra to study & I could send him on up then meet him with the kidlets for the fest.
- allure of the Famille Darthsideous to wave at

ON THE OTHER HAND

Byron Bluesfest 2012

http://www.bluesfest.com.au/

- Roger Daltrey
- Crosby Stills & Nash
- Donovan (ok, maybe he's not as much a drawcard. Very funny tho)
- I just adore Byron Bay and as a southerner crave time up there
- they have a creche with qualified carers and my kid WANTED to go last year.

what to do....oh what to do....

  1. on the same weekend - that's just cruel.
But given a choice of Canberra in April or Byron in April, the warmer clime would win out for me. Although, I dare say, the wit of Mrs Buttocks would add a few degrees to the frosty Canberra clime.

  2. but having said that, I can see your dilemny!

I'm very partial to the idea of byronising myself .. trubs is it's considerably further away - which matters if you're driving with kiddies, and it could be a bit warm for outdoorsy pursuits. if only they'd have byron in August, then we could do both festies AND be comfy :D

having said that ... kid#1 wants to go to Nimbin as he's recently done a school proj on the place (alt living), so technically we could do both. hmmm .. yes yes, might be doable.
