KONY 2012

Yes, it's an oversimplification of the issues. Yes, the folk who made it are possibly christian and they spend a lot of their money raised from donors on their films and travel etc. You prolly still should watch it & its good to have it here, I think. And I cried.

  1. Everyone over 10 has watched the doco at our place. It's similar to the story told in the movie "Blood Diamonds", with Leo DiCaprio.Very unpleasant stuff. I'm not sure that sending US troops in to assist the Ugandan army is The Answer, however, I'm happy for our teens to be facebooking about subjects a little less selfish than One Direction tickets.

yes re Betts. Nothing wrong with a bit o knee jerk idealism. Better place for kids to start than cynicism

  3. I don't mind a healthy dose of cynicism, but can't abide apathy in our young folk.

  4. I'll second that, betts. seems like a good balance. and certainly a balance we endeavour to foster in our very own goslings. after poking fun at Earnest Jason. just kidding. all good - and if my sproglets were a tad older I'd have this on high rotation.
