40-70 minutes before RACV rock up, we're told. Kids have put Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on top celebrate & Kid A doent have to go sing the National Anthem at assembly. Happy Monday all.
Just when you're out to show how "on top" of it all you are, the universe reminds you that you're not at all. And yes - what IS that thing about singing the national anthem at Monday morning assemblies? Teachers were all once students themselves, or so I imagine. Do they not recall their own school days - where singing the national anthem meant NOTHING at all - a mindless and compulsory drone? I'm all for patriotism & celebrating the fact that we live in a place with relative security,abundance of food, opportunities, & the right to say pollies are total dickheads when the need arises (ie often). But patriotism & appreciation for what we have has ZERO to do with singing some daft & dull song on demand.
