sea lake is one of the towns I took a shine to. middle of nowhere, but unlike it's neighbours, oddly appealing.

  1. ..Didnt you post somewheres that you headed out to 'timber towns west of the Dandenongs'?
I'm still trying to work out where you mean.
As far as I knew, all our timber towns are in the east of the state, eg Sth East Gippsland way. Isnt the Mallee all wheat and stuff? In fact, isnt this a piccy of a wheat silo?
Or is it a timber silo?
...I just ask because because Americans worry about educating Osama about South Africans, and we should help them....

  3. I did! I mean to say yes, I said east :D. drove from gippsland coast to northern subs of melb via noojee and such. was sleeting and there were trees across road, but it was bloody gorjus! I verily wanted to stop in at your place for a warming cup of earl grey and a game of scrabble, but we were too far north, and had to reach melb (and dinner with chums in coburg) at a partikla time.

and yes, that's a silo in the mallee, en route to mildura. saltbush country - chock full of not much, sheep, and slow-talkin' folks.

upshot is that we traversed the lovely vicky from east to west, with a dabble around the innards and a spot of big smoke to top it off. huzzah!
