  3. totally, betts! but in this case it advances the cause of recycled furnishings. you see what I did there? noice :D

BIQ - see above. it means I can sand better, which means I can restore castoffs more adequately, thus saving the planet :p

  4. I was referring to the sanding. It's very easy to get carried away with those powerful devices.
Take it from someone who's been there.

  5. Whats a orbital sander?
My guess is a plug in sander thingy with a bit that spins, like in orbit?
    Impressive name....
Dont you restore furniture and sell it and stuff?
    Enjoy! :D

  7. oh, I get ya betts. yeah nah, I'm an old hand at the sanding gig. learned long long ago to take things softly softly. spesh antiquities!

orbitals don't spin, wilms. that's a disk sander (which are not for the faint hearted, nor antiques). orbitals just have a 'vibrating' rectangular pad, to which one applies .... sandpaper :D

I restore antique furnishings to keep, mostly, though if a freebie falls into my lap and it's something I don't need, I'll certainly move it another step along the recycling trail. on that, I've recently moved a few items along that had me all :o at the prices peeps are willing to pay for the right stuff. that's the key though ... the right stuff. there's a whole lot of wrong stuff out there, and I spose that's where my years of furniture collecting/obsessing pays off. I can spot the diff :)
