The Autumn Report

- its not a bad deal, this autumn bizzo. Trees with leaves falling off them. Awesome colours. Great big fat chestnuts, earlier, bigger and fatter than other years due to a couple of heavy rain seasons. I could do without ALL of the burning off. ; feels a little over zealous, starts the minute fire seasons over and it renders all laundry impossible because this hills are wreathed in smoke. I'd love to wax poetic about the fireplace but autumn has been so warm so far that we've only had the fire going one night. Chook is laying more eggs than we can eat, farmer is still providing divine raw milk and is now taking orders for free range pork....life is good.....what about the rest of Australia???

  1. no golden tones or haze here. We had spring re-sprung for easter, & treated the country cousins to coastal coasting. It's a little cooler this week, but 25' can't be called chilly.

lovely autumnal musings, wilmsical. indeed it has been warmish, though there was a cold snap a week or so ago here - plunging us to 5c overnight .. yee haw!

our leaves are scarlet and amber, and falling in a light breeze, and the fire has been lit these past 3 afternoons :)

the parsnips and carrots are well and truly in, the beets, ditto. brussels sprouts too. my new front yard herb beds are powering in their all day protected sunshine. basil coming out our ears, rosemary a metre high, sage galloping all over, etc etc. winter lettuces going great guns. noice!
