"Old Plank Road" - Robin & Linda Williams

Speaking of Robert Altman, 'A Prairie Home Companion' would have to be one of my fave movies of the past decade or so. This is (one of) the bestest songs from the soundtrack, except this aint the sound track version- it's Robin & Linda Williams playing it live. I love love LOVE watching women (people, actually) play music just because they're great at it and they feel free to look like themselves and keep their clothes on and not pole dance or anything....
ps. lots o' yakkin. Actual song kicks in at around 2.40 minute mark

  1. I love that movie!

and I love at ease women singin' :D

speaking of which, on sunday night we went to a rather specky song festival in the big smoke. one of the acts (amongst an array of glories) was acapella nova - doing isreali folk songs. talk about women (and a few token blokes) at ease. I turned to the co-parent and said "it must be wonderful to be old, fat and mental". still, the performances were bewdiful. a symphony orchestra, conducted by steven hellinger, an 800 voice choir which blew the lid off the joint, and various accoustic folksters and tradionlists. awesomeness :D
